Meet Our Team
Jade Rice is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and clinician with Elite Psychology and Wellness. Jade received her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Family and Human Development and her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University.
Jade recognizes that taking the leap to begin therapy can sometimes be difficult and overwhelming. Her focus in the first few sessions is to support every client in identifying their own motivations, goals and expectations for therapy. Even with her vast education and clinical development, Jade is aware that the client really is the expert on themselves as she views therapy as a collaborative and supportive partnership with her clients.
Jade has spent much of her career supporting individual clients and families that have experienced and survived stressful and challenging experiences. She is experienced in supporting clients and families in navigating the potential side effects or symptoms of these experiences that often deal with trauma, unhealthy relationships and boundaries, feelings of sadness and anger. Jade also has experience working with a wide range of family types including biological, foster and adopted families. She understands that each family, and each individual in that family, are unique and deserve specialized focus and treatment, which maximizes their strengths to address their targeted areas of growth. Jade’s education and clinical background with families also serves her individual and adult clients well as Jade can work with those suffering from past and current familial behavior and relationship patterns and work on promoting strengthening these bonds and increase positive communication between those in your life. Working on ways to reduce unpleasant feelings while increasing coping skills, can help individuals move past feeling stuck in repeated unhealthy patterns of behavior. By fostering a healthy and proactive approach to therapy and the therapeutic goals that are created can improve your relationships, family life interactions, and success in your career.
Jade is trained in and uses a variety of modalities to help support her client’s needs, which is often based on the specific needs and goals developed with each client. She approaches therapy from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and Motivational Interviewing modalities to work with her clients to identify negative thoughts and emotions to change patterns of behavior and support her client’s in finding their strengths and confidence within themselves. She also uses Structural Family Therapy and Family Systems Theory to support families, especially through trauma and challenging times. Jade is certified in and frequently uses Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Sandtray Play Therapy to support the specific needs of her clients.
